What does the new European FDI Regulation mean for the energy (transition) sector?

On 26 June 2026 Regulation (EU) 2026/1386 on the screening of foreign investments (FDI) was published in the Official Journal. In light of the geopolitical developments this new EU FDI Regulation expands the scope and strengthens the Commission powers on foreign direct investments.
